Job summary

PwC Poland is seeking an experienced Accounting Expert for a project environment within the Finance Managed Services (FMS) team. You will manage end-to-end GL accounting, ensure timely closing, and partner with auditors and senior stakeholders in Poland and abroad.

The role requires strong IFRS/local GAAP knowledge, ERP proficiency (SAP/Oracle), advanced Excel skills, and a proactive, independent work style. English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of General Ledger accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP.
• Advanced ERP skills (SAP, Oracle).
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Experience with month-end and year-end closing and complex reconciliations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end General Ledger accounting processes including complex journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications.
• Oversee and ensure accuracy of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve aged items.
• Act as SME for GL accounting and provide guidance to team and stakeholders.
• Ensure IFRS/local GAAP compliance and internal policies.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with auditors during audits.
• Mentor junior team members and support professional development.
• Participate in system implementations, migrations, or process transitions.

Finance Managed Services (FMS) in PwC Poland is rapidly expanding as part of the Managed Services Operations. You can play an important role in supporting and transforming the operations of our domestic and international Clients. We continuously enhance our operations by applying best practices, streamlining processes, and integrating cutting-edge technological solutions for our customers. Join us in shaping and transforming operations for our domestic and international clients, as we delve into diverse, complex projects and collaborate closely with expert consulting teams to provide comprehensive finance services, including accounting and reporting, tax as well as financial planning & analysis, across various sectors in the region.

Accounting Expert - project environment

• Managing end-to-end General Ledger accounting processes, including complex journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications,
• Overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities,
• Performing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, including the resolution of complex or aged items,
• Acting as a subject matter expert for GL accounting, providing guidance and technical support to the team and stakeholders,
• Ensuring compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and internal policies,
• Identifying opportunities for process optimization and driving continuous improvement initiatives,
• Collaborating with internal and external auditors during audit processes,
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members in their professional development,
• Participating in or leading projects related to system implementations, migrations, or process transitions.
