Amentum is the technical advisor to PEJ Sp z o.o. for Poland’s first nuclear power programme.

The Geotechnical Engineer will provide on-site oversight during site preparation and earthworks near Gdynia, interfacing with civil engineers, construction teams, and clients to ensure works meet approved designs and quality standards. The role emphasizes field-based delivery, soil logging interpretation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to manage geotechnical risks and support safe,

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or closely related field.
• Essential: Practical understanding of soil behaviour per Eurocode 7.
• Essential: Experience in earthworks construction and ground investigation.
• Essential: Site-based construction experience and ability to work in a site environment.
• Essential: Strong technical reporting and communication skills.
• Essential: Comfortable with remote location and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day geotechnical support and oversight on site.
• Monitor large-scale earthworks including deep excavations and fill placement.
• Review soil logs and fill classifications during construction.
• Verify site-won and imported fill materials suitability.
• Monitor fill placement, moisture conditioning and compaction.
• Review field/lab testing related to earthworks.
• Identify unsuitable materials and non-conforming materials.
• Support geotechnical issue resolution with senior engineers.
