Job summary

Amentum, the technical advisor to PEJ Sp z o.o., seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to support site preparation and construction oversight for Poland’s first nuclear power project. Initially based near Gdynia, you will oversee earthworks, ground preparation and geotechnical construction activities, coordinating with engineers, contractors and client representatives.

The role requires hands-on site experience, strong geotechnical grounding and the ability to manage field testing, logging and reporting

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or Geology.
• Essential: Relevant professional geotechnical/earthworks/construction experience.
• Essential: Practical understanding of soil behaviour and Eurocode 7.
• Essential: Site-based construction experience and ability to interpret logs, tests and drawings.
• Desirable: Professional license to supervise site constructions.
• Desirable: Experience with large-scale earthworks and deep excavations.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day geotechnical support and oversight on site.
• Monitor large-scale earthworks, excavations, fill placement and dewatering.
• Review soil logging, fill classification and field testing.
• Verify site-won and imported fill materials suitability.
• Prepare technical notes and reports; liaise with contractors and designers.
• Promote safe working practices and identify geotechnical risks.
• Support high-level geotechnical oversight as project progresses.
