Aryzta Europe Business Service Center in Wrocław is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to manage postings, analysis, and control of books and financial statements across the EMEA region. You will support audits and ensure correct application of accounting policies while driving standardization and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting/finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of GL processes and accounting standards.
• Experience with SAP, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience in a Shared Services environment and project management.
• Familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS and local regulations.
• Proficient Microsoft Excel.
• Fluent in English; additional languages beneficial.
• Process improvement mindset and automation skills.

About Aryzta Europe Business Service Center

The Business Service Center in Wrocław was established in 2023. Since May 2024, we operate as a separate company based in Wrocław at Legnicka Street.

Our team currently consists of more than 100 employees.

Our portfolio includes processes in the areas of finance, master data, procurement, IT, and project management.

About the Role

The General Ledger Accountant performs activities in the general ledger (GL) area related to postings, analysis, control of books and financial statements, external and internal reporting, verification of the correct application of accounting policies, as well as audit support and coordination. As part of supporting centralization and process optimization, the Specialist proposes and implements the most effective and efficient ways of working through standardization and process improvements. The Specialist is responsible for an assigned country or a number of countries within the EMEA region, acting as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely execution of tasks to support smooth and error-free month-end (MEC), quarter-end (QEC), and year-end closings for the assigned region.
• Apply advanced knowledge of accounting processes, systems, and tools in daily operations.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and group policies.
• Take proactive actions to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
• Contribute to project activities supporting the development of the newly established BSC organisation.
• Facilitate effective task transitions, knowledge transfer, and process documentation.
• Collaborate closely with business units, local entities, and headquarters to provide analysis for decision-making.
• Resolve complex queries and maintain strong business relationships with stakeholders.
• Actively participate in transition and process improvement projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in accounting and/or finance.
• Strong expertise in GL processes, with solid knowledge of accounting, finance, and controlling.
• Proficiency in SAP, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience in a Shared Services environment, including process transformation and project management.
• Familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS, and local accounting regulations.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Fluent in English, any additional foreign language will be considered an advantage.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure and in a team
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
