Job summary

Nordea Bank Abp seeks a skilled GCP Cloud Engineer to join the Data Mesh and AI Platforms team, delivering secure, automated GCP infrastructure in a regulated banking environment with collaboration across product owners and governance stakeholders.

You will design, implement, test, and operate GCP patterns with Terraform, IAM, and CI/CD pipelines while enabling Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage and related services.

Qualifications

• Education: BSc/MSc in CS, Engineering, Information Security, Data Engineering, or related field; multiple years of cloud engineering experience.
• Hands-on production experience on GCP with infrastructure, networking and IAM.
• Strong Terraform IaC skills, modular design, environment promotion, and state handling.
• Proficient in CI/CD practices and modern software engineering.
• Familiarity with Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer and related services.
• Ability to operate in a regulated enterprise with compliance and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure and improve GCP infrastructure foundations using Terraform and pipelines.
• Create reusable IaC modules for projects, networking, IAM, secrets, logging and policy guardrails.
• Support secure landing zones, Shared VPC, private connectivity, firewall policies, and environment isolation.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for provisioning, validation, deployment and lifecycle management.
• Implement identity/workload identity, least-privilege IAM and service account governance.
• Enable GCP data and AI platform enablement across Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage and more.
• Establish observability with Cloud Logging/Monitoring, dashboards and runbooks; ensure production readiness.
• Translate priorities into backlog items, tasks, and technical docs; collaborate with cybersecurity and governance.
• Contribute to reviews and continuous improvement of platform engineering practices.
