Job summary

Nordea Bank Abp is seeking a Senior Data Mesh Platforms Engineer to join the Data Mesh and AI Platforms team. You will contribute to building scalable data platform capabilities across Nordea's data estate, enabling domain teams to deliver high-quality data products.

This full-time hybrid role is based in Gdansk or Gdynia, Poland, offering collaboration with data product teams, platform owners and engineers, while ensuring security, reliability and governance in a banking-grade environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Kafka, Iceberg and Snowflake in data platforms.
• Experience with data catalogs such as AWS Glue or Open Catalog.
• Hands-on with AWS and/or GCP data platforms.
• Knowledge of Lake Formation and S3 policy exposure for Iceberg.
• Terraform proficiency for infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Design headless data platform capabilities supporting Data Mesh principles.
• Integrate and standardize data ingestion and streaming patterns.
• Build and operate analytical data foundations using Iceberg and Snowflake.
• Enable governed data access via S3, Lake Formation and policy enforcement.
• Support API-based integration layers using Kong.
• Enable private connectivity via AWS PrivateLink or Google Private Service Connect.
