Job summary

Workplays is seeking a Game Director to own the direction from concept to release in a hybrid Warsaw setting. You will collaborate with executive leadership to define the game vision, translate it into mechanics and systems, and guide a 20+ person team through prototyping to launch.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in design or creative direction, strong Unreal Engine experience, and fluency in Polish and English, with a pragmatic, data-driven approach.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience in design or creative direction.
• Experience as Game Director or Creative Director.
• Experience leading teams of 20+ developers.
• Proficiency with Unreal Engine and understanding its limitations.
• Very good knowledge of Polish and English (minimum B2).
• Understanding of meaningful entertainment and relatable games.
• Strong mentoring, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Own game direction from concept to release and market.
• Define the game's vision with leadership and management.
• Translate vision into design mechanics, systems and player experience.
• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Mentor team members and provide constructive feedback.
