Job summary

Synechron is seeking a FinOps Cloud Engineer to identify, quantify, and deliver cloud cost optimisation across Azure, AWS, and GCP. You will combine strong engineering capability (automation, IaC, scripting) with FinOps practice to reduce run-rate, improve transparency, and prevent cost re-growth.

Qualifications

• Experience with two or more public cloud platforms and their logging/monitoring services.
• Strong understanding of logging/observability architectures and cost drivers.
• Proven ability to analyse cloud usage data and deliver measurable cost reductions.
• Knowledge of FinOps concepts including cost allocation, showback/chargeback, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities across ingestion, retention, tiering, sampling, routing, and exclusion rules by ROI and risk.
• Implement changes via automation/IaC with rollback plans and post-change validation.
• Build and deploy automation for logging and storage cost optimisation across a multi-cloud estate.
• Analyse logging data to identify cost drivers and propose reductions.
• Produce optimisation proposals with forecasted savings.
• Ensure changes comply with governance and risk controls.
• Develop runbooks, controls, and documentation for cost governance.
