Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com is seeking a Country Financial Controller for our Belgium operations, acting as the financial anchor and ensuring statutory integrity, compliance, and strong controls.

You will partner with Segment Finance, Global Finance Operations and local teams to deliver clean audits, timely reporting, and actionable insights that drive business decisions while upholding the company's values of lead, deliver, and care.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification with IFRS, Local GAAP and transfer pricing knowledge.
• Extensive experience managing statutory accounts, external audits and tax compliance in multinational group structures.
• Ability to translate tax and regulatory concepts into actionable business insights.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead statutory accounting for Belgium entities and ensure IFRS compliance.
• Coordinate month-, quarter-, and year-end closes with Global Finance Ops.
• Own statutory filings and annual financial statements.
• Manage external audits with auditors and tax advisors.
• Oversee local tax compliance (Corporate Tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing).
• Collaborate with finance partners to align forecasts with statutory realities.
• Oversee liquidity, banking, and cash flow forecasting with Group Treasury.
• Drive process improvement and internal controls.

About This Role

We're looking for a Country Financial Controller to be the financial anchor for our Belgium operations, ensuring statutory integrity, compliance excellence, and robust financial controls.

You’ll work collaboratively across our matrix organization—partnering with Segment Finance, Global Finance Operations, and local business teams—to deliver clean audits, meet regulatory requirements, and provide financial insights that drive business decisions.

These are some of the key components to the position:

• Lead financial oversight for Belgium legal entities, maintaining complete financial integrity, balance sheet health, and compliance with local and Group (IFRS) standards.
• Partner closely with Global Finance Operations teams to deliver accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes, reviewing critical reconciliations and financial reporting packages.
• Own statutory filings and annual financial statements, ensuring all local regulatory deadlines are met with excellence.
• Act as the primary point of contact and lead all external audit processes, coordinating directly with external auditors, tax advisors and local regulatory authorities.
• Manage and oversee local tax compliance (Corporate Tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing documentation) in coordination with Group Tax.
• Collaborate with Segment Finance Business Partners and commercial leadership to align statutory realities with forecasts by translating complex tax, legal, and statutory considerations into clear, actionable business insights.
• Oversee local liquidity, banking operations, and cash flow forecasting in partnership with Group Treasury to ensure financial stability and operational efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and internal controls, working across functional boundaries to raise the bar on quality, accuracy and compliance.

What will you bring to the team?

• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) with a degree in Accounting/Finance and deep technical knowledge of IFRS, Local GAAP, statutory accounting, and transfer pricing principles.
• Extensive proven track record managing statutory accounts, external audits, and tax compliance in multinational group structures, demonstrating your ability to deliver results in complex, matrixed environments.
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills, building trust and credibility across diverse stakeholders—from GFO teams to Finance BPs, Segment Controllers, and business leaders.
• Hands‑on experience with modern enterprise ERPs (Workday, SAP, Oracle) and consolidation tools (OneStream, HFM), using tech and data to drive financial accuracy and insights.
• Results‑driven mindset with exceptional attention to detail, managing multiple priorities while maintaining financial rigour and meeting tight deadlines in fast‑paced settings.
• Proactive leadership style with the ability to lead through influence, navigate ambiguity, and drive excellence while helping colleagues succeed and celebrating team wins.
• Fluent English & Polish communication skills (written and verbal)—essential for effective collaboration across global teams and external stakeholders.
