Job summary

Bruker is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer to support advanced microscopy systems across Europe. The role focuses on installation, maintenance, technical support, and customer training for neuroscience and biomedical research laboratories.

The successful candidate will travel extensively (60–70%), work with optical, laser, mechanical, electronic, and software subsystems, and spend extended training at our U.S. factory to develop independent field responsibility.

Qualifications

• MS in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Optics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with microscopy, optical instrumentation, lasers or imaging systems.
• Strong technical aptitude and interest in instrumentation and field service.
• Willingness to travel across Europe (60‑70%) and participate in US training.
• Fluency in English; other European languages are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Install, qualify, maintain, and repair multiphoton microscopy systems at customer sites across Europe.
• Diagnose optical, laser, electronic, mechanical, and software issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and calibrations per procedures.
• Provide remote troubleshooting and technical assistance.
• Document service activities in the service management system.
• Escalate issues to engineering as needed.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction through responsive support.
• Provide basic operational training to customers after installation.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and product specialists.
