Job summary

EY GDS Poland invites a Junior Cybersecurity Consultant intern to join a multinational environment in Katowice. You will perform hands-on testing, analysis and reporting under mentorship, contributing to client and internal security projects.

The three-month, paid internship offers a structured learning journey, exposure to OWASP, Burp Suite and Kali Linux, and collaboration with EY experts across the global network. Hybrid work model applies.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a cybersecurity/IT program.
• Knowledge of security concepts and OWASP Top10.
• Familiarity with security testing tools and concepts.

Responsibilities

• Contribute technically to client and internal cybersecurity projects with hands-on testing, analysis and reporting.
• Identify and document security findings and remediation steps.
• Collaborate with the project team and communicate results clearly.

Location: Katowice - 2 days in office / 3 days remote

The opportunity

You will work in multinational environment together with other top security experts and you will be helping to deliver highest standards of security to multiple customers in various sectors. Your expertise will be an initial vector which will lead to prevention of attacks or data breaches and will benefit overall security posture.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Junior Cybersecurity Consultant, you’ll contribute technically to Cybersecurity client projects and internal projects. The role involves hands‑on testing, analysis, and reporting.

Skills And Attributes For Success

• Understanding of common attack paths and security weaknesses across web, infrastructure and cloud with the ability to translate findings into business‑relevant risks and actionable remediation step
• Structured and disciplined work style, including thorough documentation, evidence handling, clear communication, and a strong focus on quality
• Strong investigative mindset with attention to detail
• Willingness to stay on full‑time after the internship

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Knowledge of security issues at the technical level,
• Knowledge of solutions and recommendations to prevent or mitigate security vulnerabilities,

Understanding of how information’s technology systems work:

• networking architecture,
• networking protocols,
• operating systems.
• Understanding of how web applications work, starting from backend, ending with frontend,
• Understanding of OWASP Top10 concepts,
• Experience with Burp Suite and/or Kali Linux,
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a security project team,
• Excellent command of English language. German or other European language would be an advantage but not mandatory

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Documented participation in Bug Bounty programs or acknowledgement of Responsible Disclosures outside those programs,
• Programming language skills (Python, C++, C# or Java).
