Job summary

Coding Concepts LLC is seeking a highly detail-oriented Vascular Surgery Coder to join our revenue cycle team remotely. You will review medical records, abstract complex ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for open, endovascular, and diagnostic vascular procedures.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in vascular coding, knowledge of NCCI, LCDs, and documentation reviews. Certification from AAPC or AHIMA is required, and collaboration with vascular surgeons is essential to minimize denials.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of vascular surgery coding experience.
• Experience with interventional radiology, cardiovascular, or endovascular coding preferred.
• Active coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA is required.
• Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II coding.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Accurately abstract and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for vascular procedures.
• Code interventional radiology and vascular surgical selectively catheterized vessels with correct component coding.
• Review operative reports and physician notes to ensure documentation supports services.
• Raise precise queries to vascular surgeons when documentation is ambiguous.
• Analyze and appeal coding denials and ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
