Job summary

Backbase Kraków is seeking a Senior+ Engineer who will lead a squad of 6–9 engineers while still actively contributing to design and code reviews. You will balance delivery accountability with people leadership, driving a reliable software lifecycle and shaping the team’s technical direction.

Expect hands-on work on architecture, mentoring, and coaching, with emphasis on rapid incident resolution and maintaining high team morale under pressure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience and recent production code delivery.
• Experience leading a squad of engineers with hands-on contribution.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivery mastery: optimize Idea-to-Production cycle time.
• Talent density: own 1:1s, performance calibration, hiring decisions, succession planning for 6–9 engineers.
• Hands-on leadership: ~50% time on system design, ~20% on code reviews and unblock technical issues.
• Conflict resolution: mediate cross-team conflicts to protect delivery.
• BS detector: spot unrealistic estimates or fragile designs.
