Job summary

ALTEN Poland in Kraków is seeking an embedded software engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation Android-based infotainment head units for the automotive industry. You will collaborate with a global distributed team to design, develop, test, and maintain software from concept to production deployment.

Ideal candidates will have strong C++ skills, experience with embedded systems and Android platforms, and familiarity with SDLC/SWDL processes.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of next-generation Android-based infotainment head units for the automotive industry.
• Collaborate within a global distributed team to design and develop innovative user experience solutions for leading automotive manufacturers.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions from concept and requirements definition through production deployment and lifecycle support.
• Troubleshoot software issues, perform root cause analysis, and deliver effective solutions.
• Modify and optimize existing software to improve functionality, performance, and quality, or adapt it to new hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with third-party suppliers to ensure delivery of high-quality software products.
• Support and enhance CI/CD processes and development tools.
• Participate in Agile development activities and contribute to continuous process improvements.

Tasks:

Requirements:

• Strong experience in embedded software development.
• Proficiency in C++ and software development for embedded systems.
• Experience with Android-based platforms and infotainment systems.
• Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC/SWDL) processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Linux environments; Android architecture and toolchain knowledge is must have.
• Experience working with CI/CD tools and continuous improvement of development workflows.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
• Understanding of software quality standards and best practices.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) is a plus.
• Knowledge of microcontrollers, ARM processors/SoCs, and peripheral interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, USB) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and automotive communication protocols such as CAN and SOME/IP is a plus.
• Awareness of Functional Safety and Automotive SPICE processes is an advantage.
