Job summary

ALTEN Polska is seeking an experienced Industrial Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain SCADA/HMI solutions for industrial projects, focusing on visualization, alarming, trending, and historian features, and PLC integration.

You will work in a hybrid setup in Bielsko-Biała, collaborating with engineering and service teams, contributing to agile processes while using modern web technologies and programming languages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or technical education in Automation, Electrical, Mechatronics, CS or related field.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in industrial automation, SCADA or HMI.
• Experience with PLC systems and industrial communication protocols, especially OPC UA.
• Hands-on SCADA/ visualization, alarm management, trending and historian functions.
• Experience with Siemens WinCC or Bachmann atvise is valued.
• Good English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain SCADA/HMI solutions for industrial automation projects.
• Create and optimize visualization systems, operator interfaces, alarms, trending, and historian functionalities.
• Configure and integrate SCADA with PLCs and OPC UA protocols.
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and testing in industrial environments.
• Collaborate with engineering, service teams and customers to ensure project delivery.
• Work with documentation and adhere to engineering standards and guidelines.
• Participate in agile development and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Develop applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, HTML, React, JSON, and XML.
• Support automation projects in wastewater and energy plants.

WHAT YOUR CHALLENGES WILL BE?

• Design, develop, and maintain SCADA/HMI solutions for industrial automation projects.

• Work with technical documentation, engineering standards, and automation guidelines.
• Participate in agile development processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain applications using modern programming languages and web technologies.
• Support automation projects in industries such as wastewater treatment and energy supply plants.

WHAT DO WE REQUIRE?

• Bachelor's degree or technical education in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in industrial automation, SCADA, or HMI systems.
• Experience with classical PLC systems, ideally in wastewater treatment plants, energy supply plants, or similar industrial environments.
• Hands-on experience with SCADA systems, including visualization, alarm management, operator interfaces, trending, and historian functions.
• Experience with Bachmann atvise is preferred; experience with Siemens WinCC is also highly valued.
• Good knowledge of PLC systems and industrial communication protocols, particularly OPC UA.
• Strong understanding of industrial processes and plant automation.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, HTML, React, JSON, and XML.
• Familiarity with development tools and methodologies such as Git, Azure DevOps, NPM, and Scrum.
• Experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and testing automation systems.
• Understanding of networking concepts and IT/OT integration.
• Ability to work effectively with technical documentation, standards, and engineering guidelines.
• Good command of English; German language skills are considered an advantage.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
