Job summary

Woodward Inc. is seeking a Product Engineer to design and support electronic devices that control turbines and industrial engines, as well as manage energy flow in electrical grids.

You will lead product lines, collaborate with international teams, support PCBA manufacturing, assembly, test, and implement corrective actions through RCCA while coordinating with Quality, Supply Chain, and external suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in electronics or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in electronics
• Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes (SMT, reflow, wave, soldering)
• Experience debugging electronic hardware with PCBAs
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings
• Strong teamwork and international project collaboration skills
• Familiarity with DFSS, engineering change and configuration management

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned product lines and support PCBA manufacturing, assembly and test.
• Investigate product quality issues and drive RCCA actions.
• Coordinate with Quality, Supply Chain, Repair and external suppliers.
• Manage obsolescence, PCNs and product sustainment.
• Validate component replacements with functional, thermal and vibration tests.
• Provide technical guidance to Sales, CS, and customers.

About The Role:The Energy Control Solutions division is looking for a Product Engineer who will work with electronic devices used to control the operation of turbines and industrial engines, as well as to manage energy flow in electrical grids. You will work with devices that control valves and pressure, as well as manage motors and emergency generators.As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the production of these devices from a design perspective and will participate in activities focused on their continuous improvement.What You Will Do:Lead assigned product lines, including support of PCBA manufacturing, assembly, test, component obsolescenceSupport investigation of product quality issues, including non-conformance reports (NCRs), warranty returns, repair findings, and scrap analysis, driving effective root cause and corrective actions (RCCA).Cooperation with Quality, Supply Chain, Repair, and external suppliers to resolve technical and quality-related concerns across the product lifecycle.Support product lifecycle management activities, including obsolescence management, supplier change notifications (PCNs), long-term product sustainment, and component transition planning.Support the validation process of component replacements (ability to perform functional, thermal and vibration tests).Serve as the technical interface for Sales, Customer Service, and customers by providing guidance on warranty claims, technical inquiries, product performance, and corrective actions while coordinating with global cross-functional teams.Basic knowledge of main IEC, CE, UL, ATEX, RoHS standardsWhat You Will Need:Bachelor or Master of Science degree in electronics or related.4+ years of experience in related areaKnowledge of electronic design and PCBA manufacturing processes, including SMT, reflow, wave and selective soldering, ICT, conformal coating, and final product assembly.Experience in debugging of electronic hardware with strong focus on problems solving with PCBAsAbility to perform basic electronic measurements and tests.Ability to interpret technical drawings such as electrical circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, control cabinet layouts and mechanical drawingsStrong teamwork and communication skills; ability to operate in the international project teamCompetent use and understanding of design tools, basic use of DFSS tools and methodologies; competent knowledge of engineering quality systems (PLC, engineering change, configuration management).
