Job summary

Aptiv PLC is building and sustaining an edge AI platform with a Rust-based system that runs AI workloads on diverse edge devices. You will influence architecture, optimize workloads, and improve observability in a constrained hardware environment.

You will work on cross-architecture builds, OTA updates, and production-grade tooling while collaborating with global teams across the US, Europe, and India. Proven coding expertise and hands-on AI tooling experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software eng experience including embedded Linux or systems programming.
• Proficiency in Rust or Python; C/C++ for native library work is a plus.
• Hands-on experience using agentic AI tools in software development workflow.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow Lite, ONNX, or TensorRT.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving in distributed systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed team (US, Europe, India).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement edge packaging and runtime system across heterogeneous devices.
• Maintain on-device orchestration platform including OTA updates and lifecycle management.
• Optimize inference and resource usage on constrained hardware.
• Harden cross-compilation and CI/CD pipelines for multi-architecture builds.
• Integrate device fleet with cloud control planes (REST/gRPC, OpenAPI, MQTT).
• Guide technical direction for core platform components.
• Use AI coding tools daily with sound judgment about their usefulness.
