We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong systems engineering fundamentals and hands‑on experience using AI coding tools and agents as part of their everyday development workflow.
You’ll join a team building and scaling a high-throughput trade management platform, primarily using Rust, with some C#/.NET. The platform processes hundreds of millions of events across multiple financial markets, making performance, scalability and reliability central to the role.
What you’ll do:
- Build high-performance, multithreaded systems and event-driven services in Rust.
- Design, develop and operate scalable distributed systems in production.
- Use AI coding tools and agents to accelerate development, testing, debugging, refactoring and automation.
- Review and validate AI-generated code with a strong focus on security, performance, correctness and maintainability.
- Take ownership of systems across the full lifecycle, from architecture and development through to deployment and production support.
- Optimise performance, latency, memory usage and AWS infrastructure costs.
- Work collaboratively with engineering teams across international locations.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years’ commercial software engineering experience, ideally in high-performance or enterprise environments.
- Working knowledge of C# / .NET Core.
- Strong programming fundamentals covering software design, algorithms, data structures, concurrency, debugging and testing.
- Significant commercial experience with Rust, including async programming, ownership, memory management and multithreading.
- Proven hands‑on use of AI-assisted development tools / coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex or similar.
- Experience using AI beyond code completion to support implementation, testing, debugging, refactoring and engineering workflows.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, REST, gRPC and messaging (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS).
- Strong AWS experience and an understanding of performance‑aware cloud architecture.
- Experience with AI-native engineering workflows, TDD/BDD, Rust testing frameworks, React/Angular, FIX, MS SQL or financial markets would be advantageous.
