Job summary

Runpod, a remote‑first AI developer cloud, seeks a Director of Forward Deployed Engineering & Technical Support. You’ll lead FDE and Technical Support teams, owning the engagement lifecycle from discovery to deployment, and align with Product and Engineering to shape Runpod’s roadmap.

The role requires 10+ years in customer‑facing tech roles with leadership, hands‑on coding in Python, and expertise in GPU/AI infrastructure. Remote work is standard with strong ownership expectations.

Qualifications

10+ years in technical customer‑facing roles with leadership experience in a high‑growth cloud/infrastructure company.
Hands‑on coding ability in Python; practical experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
Proven ability to lead a technical engagement function spanning pre‑ and post‑sales.

Responsibilities

Lead and scale FDE and Tech Support teams, define engagement models and headcount plans.
Own the FDE lifecycle: discovery, environment assessment, solution architecture, PoC, deployment guidance.
Set operating standards: trusted advisor, hands‑on when needed, cross‑functional with Product/Engineering.
Own field feedback loop to drive roadmap with clear, prioritized product input.
Run Tech Support across tiers with SLAs/SLOs, CSAT/TTR targets, escalations, and a self‑service KB.
Drive stack discipline using Zendesk, HubSpot, Linear, and Notion.
Partner with Sales, AM, Product, and Engineering on pre‑sales strategy and roadmap alignment.
