Alcon is seeking a full-stack Product Designer (UI/UX) for its Digital Health unit to translate user needs and business requirements into intuitive experiences across our digital health solutions.

You will lead end-to-end design processes, work with an agile team, and contribute to design systems while shaping how eye care professionals interact with our software tools. The role emphasizes collaboration and user-centered design in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Strong user-centered design approach with proven research, usability, and accessibility focus.
• Experience designing SaaS or digital health products for iterative product development.
• Proficiency with UX tools such as Figma, Dovetail, and rapid prototyping.
• HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript basics are a plus but not required.
• Ability to work with stakeholders to translate requirements into intuitive experiences.
• Experience building and contributing to design systems for scalable products.

As a full-stack Product Designer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design process of digital products, from planning and conducting design research to designing user interfaces and experiences. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary agile product team to design intuitive and compelling digital health experiences across our suite of digital healthcare solutions. We are a new and fast-growing team which will give you the opportunity to shape our ways of working and culture - think start-up, but inside a global leader in eye care.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Conduct user research to discover insights, define user personas, and map user journeys to inform the design process.
• Skilled in creating a range of design artifacts, including wireframes, task flows, screen mock-ups, and interactive prototypes, with a focus on intuitive user experience.
• Create visually appealing and user-friendly digital experiences that are consistent across multiple platforms, devices, and channels.
• Develop new product concepts, storyboards, detailed interaction designs and screen flows, and prototypes to clearly articulate solutions.
• Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve solutions.
• Actively collaborate as part of an agile team to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately.
• Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions in alignment with the brand.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• BSc in Design, Computer Science or relevant field and 3 years of professional experience working as Digital Product Designer SaaS, life science or a fast-paced environment
• A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
• Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma and Dovetail and the like is a must.
• Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
• Be curious and inquisitive, take appropriate risks and champion new ideas.
• Ability to work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet user needs and vision.
• Expertise in utilizing top design software and tools like Figma, FigJam, Miro, Maze, and Dovetail, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools as needed.
• Demonstrates a passion for transforming complex concepts into user-friendly digital experiences that adhere to brand standards and enhance user engagement.
• Integrates human-centered design principles, employing both qualitative and quantitative research methods to weave together a narrative that resonates with users and stakeholders.
• Experienced in developing and utilizing component-based design systems that allow for scalability and consistency across various platforms and devices.
• Expertise in utilizing top design software and tools like Figma, FigJam, Miro, Maze, and Dovetail, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools as needed.
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, able to work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality design solutions.
• Continuously seeks to stay updated with the latest UI/UX trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the design function.
