Job summary

paytech is expanding its fintech platform with a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer based in Wrocław. You will own and scale our AWS-based production infrastructure, design IaC pipelines with Terraform and Ansible, and drive CI/CD improvements across services including our data warehouse initiatives with ClickHouse and Kinesis.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a similar role with production environment ownership.
• Strong Linux administration skills, troubleshooting, performance analysis, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS) and related infra.
• Practical IaC with Terraform and/or Ansible required.
• Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPN, TLS.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and tooling.
• Familiarity with monitoring/observability: Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve production infrastructure running on AWS with high availability and security.
• Design, automate, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Manage Linux systems, networking, load balancers, and proxies (nginx/HAProxy).

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to help us scale, automate, and continuously improve our cloud infrastructure. We need someone who can go beyond day-to-day infrastructure maintenance — an engineer who takes ownership, makes sound technical decisions, proactively identifies risks, and helps build reliable, secure, and scalable production systems. Alongside our core payment infrastructure, we are launching an exciting new initiative: building a Data Warehouse (DWH) and real-time data processing infrastructure using ClickHouse and Amazon Kinesis. • Own and improve production infrastructure running on AWS, ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and performance
• Design, automate, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible
• Build, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and infrastructure automation
• Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based systems, networking components, load balancers, and reverse proxies, including nginx and HAProxy
• Improve infrastructure observability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and proactive detection of potential issues
• Investigate production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence
• Participate in designing and operating our new DWH infrastructure based on ClickHouse and Amazon Kinesis, including data ingestion, streaming, scalability, and operational reliability
• Improve disaster recovery, backup strategies, capacity planning, and infrastructure resilience
• Identify opportunities to optimize AWS infrastructure costs without compromising reliability or performance
• Collaborate closely with development, security, and engineering teams on infrastructure architecture and technical improvements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, or a similar role, with solid experience managing production environments
• Strong Linux administration skills, including system troubleshooting, performance analysis, and optimization
• Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, and related infrastructure services
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and/or Ansible
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPN, load balancing, and TLS
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong knowledge of nginx, reverse proxies, and load-balancing technologies
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent solutions
• Scripting and automation skills using Bash and/or Python
• Good understanding of infrastructure security, high availability, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery principles
• Experience troubleshooting complex production issues and identifying their underlying causes
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset and the ability to independently design and implement technical solutions
