Job summary

ELJ Group seeks a DevOps engineer to develop and operate AWS cloud architectures, data warehousing and data science components. You will set up CI/CD pipelines with GitLabCI, host and maintain AWS/Azure environments, and implement IaC using Terraform and Kubernetes.

The role focuses on security, reliability, and automation, driving the cloud strategy across the company while ensuring high availability and scalable infrastructure in a Linux-based environment.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in computer science or a comparable field with practical DevOps experience.
• Excellent knowledge of AWS and basic Azure and Linux environments.
• Experience with virtualization, containerization, monitoring, CI/CD.
• Knowledge of automation scripting (bash or Python).
• Knowledge of distributed systems and high availability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate AWS cloud architectures and data areas.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD with GitLabCI.
• Host, connect, and maintain AWS/Azure environments and third-party services.
• Infrastructure tasks to provide internal services (Terraform).
• Analyze existing setup and proactively develop security, scaling, and IaC concepts.
• Drive company-wide cloud strategy using AWS technologies.
• Identify weaknesses in access rights, managed domains, DNS & SSL.
• Support CI/CD pipelines with GitOps (ArgoCD).
• Monitor, report, failover and recovery; document audits.

About the Role

• â Responsibility for the further development and operation of the AWS cloud architectures
• for the areas of data warehouse and data science
• â Set up and maintenance of CI/CI (GitlabCI) for service development
• â Hosting, connection, and maintenance of AWS/Azure environments and other third-party services
• â Infrastructure tasks to provide and operate internal services (Terraform)
• â Analysis of the existing setup and proactive development of security, scaling, and
  automation concepts. Provision of an easily maintainable infrastructure for dev, staging,
  and production described as code - infrastructure as a code approach (IaC)
• â Driving the company-wide cloud strategy using AWS technologies
• â Identification of weaknesses in access rights, managed domains, DNS > SSL
• â Supporting the further development and optimization of continuous integration,
  continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using GitOps approach (ArgoCD)
• â Monitoring, reporting, failover, and recovery, as well as accompanying documentation
  and implementation of regular and proactive audits

Requirements

• â Successfully completed studies in the field of computer science or a comparable field of
  study and practical experience as a DevOps
• â Excellent knowledge of AWS, basic skills in Azure and Linux-based environments
• â Relevant experience in the use of virtualization, containerization, monitoring, continuous
  deployment, and integration
• â Knowledge of a language for automation (e.g. bash, python)
• â Distributed systems and high availability are more than just buzzwords for you
• â Confident team player, organizational talent, and strong communication skills
• â Independent, goal-oriented, and structured way of working
