Job summary

Mindbox is seeking a database infrastructure professional to join our Kraków team. You’ll work across Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, SQL Server and cloud DB services to support critical applications and drive platform upgrades, migrations, and standardisation.

This hands-on, high-responsibility role offers hybrid work with six days a month in the Kraków office, competitive benefits, and the chance to influence global infrastructure across Europe.

Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle, IBM Db2, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server databases.
• Cloud DB services experience across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Ali Cloud.
• Ability to script and automate using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure initiatives including platform evergreen, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Build and manage database environments, optimizing server usage and cost performance.
• Ensure compliance by deploying patches and security updates within governance frameworks.
• Evaluate new database technologies and cloud features; support pilot deployments and proofs-of-concept.
• Provide internal consulting on database design, resilience, scalability, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies.
• Produce clear documentation for standards, implementation guides, and operational handbooks.
• Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and on-call support; report progress to management.

Job description

Core Technical Skills

• Oracle (RMAN, RAC, Data Guard, Exadata)


• DB2


• PostgreSQL


• SQL Server


• Familiarity or willingness to adopt multi-platform environments including Cloud DB services (AWS, Azure, GCP, Ali Cloud)


• Ability to script and automate using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Ansible


• Experience with enterprise IT operational processes for change, incident, and controlled production environments

Other Key Skills

• Excellent communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for varied audiences


• Strong organisational capability—detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple concurrent priorities


• High resilience; comfortable working under pressure, meeting deadlines, and participating in out-of-hours support when needed

• Evaluate new database technologies and cloud features, support pilot deployments, and develop proof-of-concepts


• Provide internal consulting on database design, resilience, scalability, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies


• Produce clear documentation for standards, implementation guides, and operational handbooks


• Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis, including on-call support via rota


• Report delivery progress and risks clearly and accurately to management and stakeholders
