Job summary

Philip Morris International in Kraków is seeking a Data Scientist to turn business problems into statistical and AI solutions within our Global Data & Analytics Hub. You will work in one of two complementary tracks building solid foundations in the shared core.

Track A focuses on classical ML to develop and deploy models; Track B covers AI/GenAI engineering with LLMs and RAG systems. Relocation support isn't available for this job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field (Math/CS/Stats/Physics/Engineering)
• 1–3 years of Data Science/ML experience, including internships or project work
• Python required; SQL is a plus
• Experience writing clean, modular, testable code with unit testing
• CI/CD & SDLC knowledge including Git/Bitbucket and automated testing
• AWS experience; SageMaker/Bedrock/S3/Lambda/ECS or API Gateway are a plus
• Understanding of MLOps, deployment, monitoring and versioning
• Awareness of data governance, privacy, security and compliance
• Experience with Agile methodologies and hypothesis-driven problem solving
• Strong communication, ownership and learning mindset

Responsibilities

• Translate business problems into mathematical/AI solutions and deliver production-ready code through CI/CD and code reviews
• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and shape data/AI products
• Deliver components from analysis and modelling to implementation under guidance
• Contribute to design decisions, risk identification and solution proposals
• Prototype and implement solutions with increasing autonomy
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing within the analytics community
• Follow Scrum practices and team standards for reproducibility, testing and engineering quality
