Job summary

Templeton & Partners - Innovative & Inclusive Hiring Solutions is seeking a Data Engineer to build reliable data pipelines and support regulated pharmaceutical data products. The role involves designing, building and maintaining batch and streaming ingestion and transformation pipelines.

You will integrate SAP, LIMS and MES data, develop SQL/Python transformations, and implement data quality, governance and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Proven data engineering experience in pharma/biotech.
• Advanced SQL and Python skills.
• Hands-on Snowflake and ETL/ELT development.
• Experience with Airflow, dbt or Talend.
• Familiarity with AWS S3, Git and CI/CD.
• Strong data modeling, testing and quality practices.
• Understanding of GxP, ALCOA+ in regulated data.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience with Collibra and SAP/LIMS/MES integrations is a plus.

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to build reliable data pipelines and support data products across a global, regulated pharmaceutical environment.

What you’ll do:

• Design, build and maintain batch and streaming ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Integrate data from enterprise and laboratory systems, including SAP, LIMS and MES.
• Develop modular, testable transformations using SQL and Python.
• Build layered data models using dimensional and medallion architecture principles.
• Orchestrate workflows and automate deployments through CI/CD.
• Implement data quality, lineage and monitoring controls.
• Optimise pipeline performance, reliability and cost.
• Ensure data pipelines meet GxP, data integrity and audit-trail requirements.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous data engineering experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Advanced SQL and Python skills.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and ETL/ELT pipeline development.
• Experience with workflow orchestration and tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt or Talend.
• Familiarity with AWS/S3, Git-based version control and CI/CD.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, automated testing and data quality.
• Understanding of GxP environments, ALCOA+ principles and regulated data handling.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Experience with Collibra, pharmaceutical R&D data and integrations involving SAP, LIMS or MES would be an advantage.
