Job summary

AMD Field Services seeks a Datacenter Technician to support customers and AMD staff during server deployment and maintenance. This role blends hands-on hardware work with incident management, reporting, and knowledge-base creation.

You will work on-site in a DataCenter environment, handling break-fix, rack deployment, and project-related tasks. A computer-related degree or 3+ years’ experience is required; CompTIA A+/Server+ and MCP/MCSE are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in a computer-related field; Bachelor’s preferred or 3+ years of equivalent experience.
• Exceptional server hardware knowledge and ability to perform RCA/failure analysis.
• Experience with Linux/Windows scripting and deployment technologies such as WDS, PXE, DHCP, and FTP.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site data center support including break-fix for new rack deployments and incident management.
• Assist in reporting, knowledge-base creation, and adherence to SLAs with customers.
• Collaborate with AMD staff and customers for deployment, sustainment, and project-related tasks.
• Perform network/server configurations, power cycling, patching, and cabling as directed.
• Support asset management logistics and contribute to DC floor plan audits.
• Communicate with regional/global leadership and act as a client-facing AMD representative.
