Job summary

Lufthansa Systems Poland Sp. z o.o. is seeking a senior Data Engineer/Architect to shape a cutting-edge data platform. You will migrate from Teradata to Databricks, design scalable data architectures, and collaborate with global teams to ensure high performance and maintainability.

Responsibilities include translating business needs into data solutions, guiding development, and documenting efforts. 2x weekly in Gdańsk, with an international, collaborative environment and strong career paths.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data Engineering/Architecture/Data Warehousing.
• Strong SQL and procedural DB languages (T-SQL, PL/SQL).
• Design scalable data solutions and architectures.
• Hands-on with Databricks, PySpark, Python (Pandas, NumPy).
• Experience with Git version control.

Responsibilities

Tasks

What you'll do:

• Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
• Design data architectures, models and integration patterns
• Support architectural decisions and guide the development team
• Analyze and improve migration from Teradata to Databricks
• Design, develop and enhance intergrations and data pipelines with the DWH Product Owner
• Work with stakeholders to define, validate and prototype solutions
• Ensure quality, performance, scalability, maintainability
• Prepare documentation, effort estimates and recommendations
• Improve standards, best practices and share knowledge within the team

Requirements

What you'll bring:

• 5+ years in Data Engineering/Architecture/Data Warehousing
• Strong SQL & procedural DB languages (T-SQL, PL/SQL)
• Experience designing scalable data solutions/architectures
• Hands-on with Databricks, modern data platforms, PySpark, Python (Pandas, NumPy)
• Git experience

• Database optimization, tuning, partitioning, index/statistics management
• Data modeling & integration patterns know-how
• Ownership, quality focus, motivation to learn
• Passion for data engineering & new tech
• English (B2/C1), strong analytical & communication skills
• Cloud-based data platforms experience
• Availability in Gdańsk office 2x/week
