Job summary

Auctane is seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Intern to join our Information Security team in a hybrid setup. You will gain hands-on experience in threat monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and security compliance while working with seasoned professionals.

You will interact with security engineers on real workflows, contribute to awareness programs, and gain exposure to enterprise security architectures. This internship offers pathways to full-time roles upon graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Solid understanding of core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Firewalls, OSI).
• Basic familiarity with Windows and Linux via command-line interface.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
• Understanding of security principles (encryption, MFA, least privilege).

Responsibilities

• Analyze security alerts using SIEM tools and support threat detection.
• Assist in vulnerability scans, document findings, and track remediation tasks.
• Help gather logs and analyze artifacts during security events.
• Create phishing simulations, training materials, and SOP updates.
• Track emerging threats and recommend defensive updates.

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Intern to join our Information Security team. You will gain hands‑on experience in threat monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and security compliance while working alongside experienced security professionals.

What will you be doing?

• Security Monitoring: Assist in analyzing alerts using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools to detect potential threats and suspicious behavior.
• Vulnerability Assessments: Support routine vulnerability scans, document findings, and assist teams with tracking remediation tasks.
• Incident Response Support: Help gather logs, analyze forensic artifacts, and document post‑incident reviews during security events.
• Security Awareness & Documentation: Assist in creating employee phishing simulations, training materials, and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Threat Intelligence Research: Track emerging cyber threats, software vulnerabilities, and industry trends to recommend defensive updates.

What are we looking for?

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Solid understanding of core networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Firewalls, OSI Model).
• Basic familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems via command‑line interface.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and written communication skills.
• Understanding of general security principles (encryption, multi‑factor authentication, least privilege).

What will make you stand out?

• Basic scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for task automation.
• Exposure to software development tools and development environments
• Previous software and cyber security experience with relevant coursework or experience.
