ShipStation Global Poland is seeking a Software Engineer in Wroclaw to join our growing Polish hub. You will work on scalable Java backend services using Spring Boot, BPM workflows, and AWS, while developing automated tests and contributing to the full development lifecycle.

We value candidates with 2+ years of backend experience, strong REST API skills, and hands-on experience with CI/CD, Git, and cloud services. Polish and English proficiency are required for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of backend development experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, OOP and design patterns.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Hands-on experience with automation testing frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, Cucumber, Rest Assured, Karate).
• Knowledge of API and integration testing with automated tests.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Proficiency in Polish and English.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend apps with Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Develop and improve BPM workflows and automation solutions.
• Build, consume RESTful APIs and integrate with internal/external systems.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot apps on AWS (EC2, S3, etc.).
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitHub.
• Monitor health and logs with Datadog and Elasticsearch.
• Develop automation test suites to ensure quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in code reviews.

About The Role

As a Software Engineer, we are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer with 2+ years of experience in Java backend development. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot, Business Process Management (BPM) workflows, AWS cloud services, and automation testing frameworks. You will be responsible for developing scalable enterprise applications, ensuring application quality through automated testing, and contributing to the complete software development lifecycle.

What will you be doing?

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot/Spring Framework.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Business Process Management (BPM) workflows and process automation solutions.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot applications on AWS (EC2, S3, and related services).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and manage source code using GitHub.
• Monitor application health, performance, and logs using Datadog and Elasticsearch.
• Develop and maintain automation test suites to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Participate in code reviews and follow coding standards, secure coding practices, and software engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in backend application development with Java 17+ and Spring Boot / Spring Framework
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software engineering principles.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and software development using Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Hands–on experience with automation testing frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, Cucumber, Rest Assured, or Karate.
• Knowledge of API and integration testing with automated test suites.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Passion for learning new technologies and contributing to engineering best practices.
• Proficiency in Polish and English is required for this role
