Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Production Technician to translate customer specifications into manufacturing-ready packages, drafting 2D/3D drawings and generating multi-axis CNC programs. You will ensure GD&T compliance, optimize cycle times, and provide shop-floor technical support across a global engineering and manufacturing network.

Requirements include 3–5+ years in CNC programming and drafting, advanced CAD/CAM skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD) and experience with Mastercam/SolidCAM/NX.

Qualifications

3–5+ years in CNC programming and technical mechanical drafting.
Advanced CAD/CAM skills for 2D/3D drawings and CAM software.
Knowledge of ASME/ISO drawing standards and GD&T.
Experience with multiple CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Haas).
Practical application of Lean principles in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Draft complete 2D/3D drawings and manufacturing prints per ISO/ASME standards.
Generate, verify, and simulate multi-axis CNC programs (3/4/5-axis).
Select tools, speeds/feeds, and design fixtures/workholding.
Lead first-article prove-outs on the shop floor and troubleshoot issues.
Create setup sheets and maintain revision/version control for CAD/CAM files.
