Job summary

MetalXpat seeks an experienced SolidCAM Programmer & CNC Machine Operator to join a precision machining team. You will program and operate Haas 5-axis milling, Doosan 3-axis VMC, and Doosan turning centers to produce high-precision components with SolidCAM integrated to SOLIDWORKS.

The role requires 5+ years of SolidCAM experience, strong GD&T knowledge, and proficiency with Fanuc/Siemens controls. This is a long-term position based in Israel, with emphasis on quality and process optimization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years SolidCAM experience programming milling and turning machines.
• Proficiency in SolidCAM iMachining (2D/3D), HSM and HSS modules, and 4/5-axis machining.
• Experience operating Haas 5-axis, Doosan VMC, and Doosan turning centers.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, machining tolerances, and CAD/CAM data interpretation.
• Knowledge of tool selection, fixture design, and cutting parameter optimization.
• Familiarity with Fanuc and Siemens control systems.
• Good English communication skills.
• Willingness to work in Israel long-term.

Responsibilities

• SolidCAM Programming: create, simulate, and optimize CNC programs integrated with SOLIDWORKS.
• CNC Setup & Operation: set up Haas 5-axis and Doosan 3-axis VMC machines, verify programs, and perform first-article inspection.
• Process Improvement: analyze cycle times and machining parameters, propose better strategies and tooling.
• Documentation: maintain structured CAM program libraries, setup sheets, tooling data, and revision records.

About the Role

This role combines SolidCAM expertise with hands-on CNC operation skills,ensuring quality, efficiency, and innovation in every machined part.

Key Responsibilities

SolidCAM Programming

• Create, simulate, and optimise CNC programs using SolidCAM integrated withSOLIDWORKS.
• Apply 2.5D, 3D HSM, iMachining 2D/3D, 4-axis, 5-axis, and Turning modules.
• Develop and validate programs for Haas 5-axis milling, Doosan 3-axis VMC, andDoosan turning centers.
• Utilise Machine Simulation and Collision Detection to verify tool-paths andmachine kinematics.
• Configure post-processors and generate G-code specific to Haas and Doosancontrols (Fanuc/HASS).
• Maintain a structured library of CAM programs, setup sheets, tooling data,and revision records.

CNC Setup & Operation

• Set up and operate Haas 5-axis and Doosan 3-axis VMC machines, and Doosan CNCturning centers.
• Load and verify SolidCAM programs, perform tool presetting, offsets, andfirst-article inspection.
• Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMM(if applicable).
• Troubleshoot tool wear, chatter, and surface finish issues; adjustfeeds/speeds as needed.
• Collaborate with quality, tooling, and production engineering teams tooptimise performance.

Process Improvement

• Analyse cycle times and machining parameters using SolidCAM iMachiningWizard.
• Recommend and implement improved machining strategies, tooling, or fixturingto reduce downtime and cost.
• Participate in process documentation
