Job summary

Evolution is seeking a skilled Chief Accountant in Warsaw to manage local accounting operations, ensure compliance with IFRS and Polish tax law, and support month-end closes. Experience with payroll processing and local reporting is preferred.

You will coordinate with the Accounting Manager, prepare VAT/CIT returns, and oversee payroll processing and reporting into the consolidation system, while maintaining strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of experience as Chief Accountant.
• Excellent English (written and verbal).
• Excellent MS Office skills.
• Strong knowledge of Polish tax and labor code legislation.
• Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily accounting per local laws, IFRS, and best practices.
• Perform month-end close: reconciliations and journal entries.
• Control and approve payroll, invoices, taxes and other payments.
• Coordinate with Accounting Manager during month end.
• Assist audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Prepare VAT, CIT and fiscal returns.
• Manage payroll processing and local reporting into consolidation.
• Monitor internal controls and adherence.

Job Description

• Ensuring that daily accounting operations are done in accordance with the local legislation, IFRS and best practices.
• Performing month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries.
• Controlling and approving payments (payroll, invoices, taxes and other).
• Liaising with Accounting Manager, particularly when coordinating efforts during the month end close.
• Providing support during the audits and liaising with external auditors.
• Preparation of VAT, CIT and fiscal returns & supports the preparation of all required financial declarations/reports as requested by public and financial institutions.
• Managing the accounting processes for the local entity including payroll processing and reporting into the consolidation system.
• Ensuring that all internal controls are in place and monitoring ongoing adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 3-5 years of experience working as a Chief Accountant.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Excellent MS office skills.
• Good accounting software skills.
• Very good knowledge of tax & labor code legislation.
• The ability to set priorities and exercise flexibility where necessary.
• Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, commitment to learn and develop.
