Job summary

PTV Logistics seeks an experienced Business Controller to own controlling for its Research & Development organization, serving as a trusted finance partner for Software Engineering and Product Management leadership.

You will design operational KPIs with engineering and product teams, lead budgeting and rolling forecasts for R&D, and rigorously analyze investments to optimize resource allocation across products and debt initiatives.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on controlling experience with exposure to R&D.
• SaaS experience is a plus.
• Strong R&D financial management, including software capitalization, project accounting, and tech cost structures.
• Proven finance business partner in technical environments, with engineers and product teams.
• Skilled in financial modeling and data analysis; proficient in Excel and BI tools (Power BI or Qlik).
• Bachelor's or Master's in Finance, Controlling, or Business Administration; CMA/CPA/CIMA a plus.
• Willingness to travel regularly; strong English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of R&D controlling as primary finance contact and strategic advisor for Software Engineering and Product Leadership.
• Design and implement operational KPIs with engineering and product stakeholders, covering development velocity and profitability.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts for R&D with resource allocation across products and technical debt.
• Challenge R&D investments through cost-benefit analyses of new development, features, and infrastructure.
• Develop financial models for capitalization of software development costs in line with accounting standards.
• Drive monthly performance reviews with engineering and product leaders, delivering variance analyses and actionable recommendations.

• You have a proven track record as a finance business partner in technical environments, communicating effectively with engineering and product teams.
• You are skilled in financial modeling and data analysis, with a strong command of Excel and BI tools such as Power BI or Qlik.
• You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration, or a related field; certifications such as CMA, CPA, or CIMA are a plus.
• You combine a strategic mindset with attention to detail, strong English language skills, and a willingness to travel regularly to collaborate across locations.
