Job summary

Xebia is seeking a backend software engineer to join an automotive marketplace project. You will design and build scalable microservices using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot, delivering REST APIs and robust backend systems.

You will collaborate with Product, Data, and UX teams, maintain high code quality, and leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and decisions. Remote-friendly EU region and occasional Warsaw visits are required.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Java and Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
• Practical experience designing and developing microservices architectures.
• Experience building and maintaining backend services and REST APIs.
• Strong focus on code quality, testing, and engineering best practices.
• Ability to design new modules and improve existing systems.
• Practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery.
• Ability to work effectively with Product, Data, and UX teams.
• Polish and English at B2 level.
• Openness to occasional visits to the Warsaw office (1-2 days per quarter).
• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

You will be:

• basic knowledge of frontend or mobile development, such as Web, iOS, or Android.
• experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily work,
• interest in and familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices (e.g. agent-based workflows, automation patterns, AI-augmented development), with a willingness to explore and experiment beyond standard approaches.
