Job summary

Xebia in Poland is seeking a mid-level Android developer to join a strategic automotive vertical project. You will design and build native Android apps using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android tooling, collaborating with backend engineers and product teams to deliver scalable features.

With strong REST API integration (Retrofit preferred), you will contribute to end-to-end mobile solutions, participate in CI/CD workflows, and apply your knowledge of OOP, data structures, and algorithms.

Qualifications

• Mid-level Android development experience.
• Strong Kotlin and Jetpack Compose experience.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK and native development.
• Experience integrating apps with REST APIs, preferably Retrofit.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming, algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with Gradle build processes and CI systems.
• English at least B2 level.
• EU work permit required.

You will be:

• designing and developing Android solutions for the automotive vertical as part of a key strategic initiative aimed at transforming a general-purpose marketplace into a collection of specialized “shops within a shop”,
• building and maintaining high-quality native Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android technologies,
• working closely with backend engineers and the Client’s product teams to deliver scalable and user-focused solutions,
• integrating mobile applications with REST APIs and collaborating across teams to deliver end-to-end functionality,
• using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, OpenCode, or other agentic coding tools as part of your daily development workflow,
• contributing to technical decisions and independently solving development challenges,
• working with modern build and CI processes to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.

Your profile:

• at least mid-level professional experience in Android development,
• fluent knowledge of Kotlin and strong experience with Jetpack Compose,
• advanced knowledge of Coroutines,
• advanced knowledge of the Android SDK and native Android application development,
• hands-on experience integrating applications with REST APIs, preferably using Retrofit,
• practical knowledge of object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures,
• experience with Gradle build processes and Continuous Integration (CI) systems,
• high level of independence in organizing your work and solving technical problems effectively,
• English at least at B2 level,
• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

Nice to have:

• experience working with RxJava,
• experience developing and maintaining large and complex codebases,
• practical experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
