Job summary

UST is seeking a Validation Engineer to support client storage technology validation across Windows, Linux, and UEFI. Responsibilities include system setup, test execution, defect verification, and maintaining validation labs in compliance with Client standards.

The candidate should perform imaging, OS deployment, RAID configuration, and hardware bring-up while capturing logs and ensuring high-quality validation results. Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Electronics/EE or related field.
• Experience with validation in storage hardware is a plus.
• Familiarity with validation tools and defect tracking is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual validation of RST and TSE across Windows, Linux and UEFI.
• Install, configure, and maintain validation systems, OS, BIOS and firmware.
• Perform functional, smoke, sanity, regression and compatibility tests.
• Do system imaging, BIOS flashing, OS deployment, RAID setup, and hardware bring-up.
• Capture logs, screenshots, traces, and diagnostics for defect reporting.
• Reproduce customer-reported issues and support verification by engineering.
• Record test execution status and maintain test documentation.
• Maintain validation labs, hardware inventory and assets.
• Adhere to engineering processes, quality standards and security policies.
• Support lab improvements to boost efficiency and operations.

The Opportunity

UST is looking for a Validation Engineer to support Client storage technology validation by executing manual validation of Rapid Storage Technology (RST) and Total Storage Encryption (TSE) features across Windows, Linux, and UEFI platforms. The role involves system setup, functional testing, defect verification, lab maintenance, and ensuring high-quality validation execution in compliance with Client engineering standards.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Execute manual validation of Rapid Storage Technology (RST) and Total Storage Encryption (TSE) features across Windows, Linux, and UEFI platforms.
• Install, configure, and maintain validation systems, operating systems, BIOS, firmware, storage devices, and peripheral hardware.
• Execute functional, smoke, sanity, regression, compatibility, installation, and basic performance test cases based on approved validation plans.
• Perform system imaging, BIOS flashing, OS deployment, storage configuration, RAID setup, and hardware bring-up activities.
• Capture execution logs, screenshots, traces, and system diagnostics to support defect reporting and root cause analysis.
• Reproduce customer-reported issues and support engineering teams in issue verification and validation.
• Record test execution status, maintain test documentation, and update Client defect tracking tools.
• Maintain validation labs, hardware inventory, and test assets to ensure equipment readiness.
• Adhere to Client engineering processes, quality standards, security policies, and documentation requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance validation execution efficiency and lab operations.
