Job summary

ABB in Kraków is seeking an Application Service Manager to own the end-to-end lifecycle and service management of business applications, ensuring stability, availability, performance, security, and overall service quality.

You will coordinate IT, business, and vendor teams, drive migrations, decommissioning, and continuous improvement, while proactively managing risks and service delivery across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Service Management and application management, including managing application lifecycles and ensuring effective support, maintenance, availability, performance, and service quality.
• Experience in leading and delivering IT projects and initiatives, particularly application migrations, system integrations, infrastructure changes, upgrades, technology transitions, or decommissioning.
• Experience working in complex, cross-functional environments, coordinating activities across business, IT, infrastructure, security, architecture, application support teams, and external vendors.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills, with the ability to manage expectations, align priorities, resolve issues and escalations, and maintain effective relationships across business and technology teams.
• Good understanding of project delivery methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, with the ability to operate effectively across both project and operational environments.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and related technologies, with basic knowledge of Azure and SharePoint administration.
• Strong ownership and delivery mindset, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and dependencies, and deliver results effectively under time pressure.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps and Azure Portal is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle and service management of business applications, ensuring stability, availability, performance, security, and overall service quality.
• Coordinate IT, business, and vendor teams to ensure stable and effective application operations.
• Proactively manage risks, dependencies, service performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Own the introduction, ongoing operations, and retirement of applications, ensuring effective service transition and operational readiness.
• Lead application-related projects and initiatives, including migrations, system integrations, infrastructure changes, upgrades, technology transitions, and decommissioning.
• Plan and coordinate activities, manage timelines and dependencies, and ensure successful delivery with technical and business teams.
• Drive M&A-related application integration and transition activities, including discovery, migration, consolidation, handover, and retirement.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities across IT, business, infrastructure, security, architecture, and external vendors to minimize disruption.
