Job summary

Outokumpu is seeking an Application Developer to join our team in Katowice, Poland. You will design and develop applications across the full lifecycle, from selection and implementation to maintenance and retirement.

You will provide end-user support, participate in upgrades, document configurations, and collaborate with IT and business counterparts to continuously improve our manufacturing IT services while ensuring security and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, IT, or equivalent industry experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Application Development, particularly within manufacturing contexts.
• Strong proficiency in programming language (APEX) and R&D tools (e.g., Git). Knowledge of Oracle Forms is an advantage.
• Intermediate skills in server operating systems and databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) and cloud technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to development and improvement. Strong communication and cooperation skills in both German and English, spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Software Development: Design and develop applications, contributing to their entire lifecycle—from selection and implementation to maintenance and retirement.
• Operational Support: Provide support to end-users, including OnCall Service, addressing queries and resolving issues to ensure effective application usage.
• Application Upgrades: Participate in the upgrade process, including testing, versioning, deployment, and validation, to maintain optimal performance of software applications.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for applications, including user guides, configuration details, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with business counterparts, IT teams, and service suppliers to ensure seamless integration of applications with existing systems.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and improvement, aligning application functionality with manufacturing goals.
• Business Satisfaction: Improve business satisfaction and application performance by ensuring services meet the needs of the organization.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with IT security policies and industry regulations.
• Team Coordination: Collaborate effectively with internal and external IT teams, supporting the implementation of annual plans while considering long-term developments.
