Job summary

Pocketsquare sp. z o.o. in Warsaw is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team, with roles available in AP/AR or GL accounting.

The position offers exposure to a multinational SSC/BPO environment and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. Ideal candidates will have a solid accounting background, IFRS or US GAAP awareness, proficiency in Excel, and hands-on ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).

Qualifications

• Strong command of English (B2/C1), written and spoken.
• Accounting background and attention to detail in high-volume transactions.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify invoices in SAP or ERP for AP/AR.
• Perform month-end close activities for GL including journal entries and intercompany transactions.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with AP/AR/Tax/Treasury teams and support external audits.

Job description

On behalf of our client, a leading corporation based in Warsaw, we are looking for an experienced Accountant to join their finance team. Depending on your background, you may be considered for an AP/AR or GL Accountant role, both positions are open simultaneously.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing (AP/AR):

• Processing and verifying vendor and customer invoices in SAP or equivalent ERP

• Reconciling accounts and managing outstanding balances with suppliers and clients

• Preparing and processing payments in line with company deadlines

• Supporting month-end and year-end close activities

• Communicating with internal teams and external counterparts in English

• Identifying process improvements within AP/AR workflows

What you'll be doing (GL):

• Performing month-end, quarter-end and year-end close for assigned entities

• Preparing and posting journal entries including accruals, prepayments and intercompany transactions

• Reconciling balance sheet accounts and preparing supporting documentation

• Analyzing P&L and balance sheet variances with relevant commentary

• Supporting external audit processes

• Collaborating with AP, AR, Tax and Treasury teams

Requirements

• Foreign languages

• Strong command of English (B2/C1), written and spoken

• Attention to detail and ability to work with high transaction volumes

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field

• Knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP (GL track)

• Proficiency in Excel

• Hands-on experience with SAP or another ERP system (Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)

• Minimum 2 years of experience in AP, AR or GL accounting, preferably in an SSC/BPO or multinational environment
