Job summary

Twinings Poland is seeking an AP Accountant with German to join the Finance team. The role involves accurate processing of invoices, payments, and travel expenses, working closely with cross-functional teams to support financial operations.

The ideal candidate has 3–4 years in accounts payable within an SSC/BPO setting, fluent English and German (B2), and strong knowledge of AP principles. Hybrid work is offered with central support from the Finance department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting/Finance.
• 3-4 years of experience in accounts payable in SSC/BPO environment.
• Fluency English and German (at least B2).
• Solid knowledge of AP principles and accounting standards.
• Proficiency in S4/Hana and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices with accurate coding and policy compliance.
• Perform three-way matching of POs, receipts, and invoices; resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and process weekly payment runs or as needed.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Assist with month-end closing and AP sub-ledger reconciliations.
• Review employee expense reports for accuracy and reimbursements.
• Communicate with vendors and internal teams to address inquiries.

The AP Accountant with German will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and travel & expense reports. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of AP processes, effective organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. This position reports directly to the Accounting Team Leader and collaborates with various departments to support the company’s financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with company policies.
• Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, goods receipts, and invoices to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare, verify, and process payment runs on a weekly or as-needed basis.
• Reconcile vendor statements, research, and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including AP sub-ledger reconciliations.
• Review employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies and process reimbursements accordingly.
• Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to address inquiries and resolve payment issues.
• Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining AP policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct regular AP aging analysis, debit balances and GRNI cleansing.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, reports, and supporting schedules related to AP activities.
• Contribute to process improvements and help implement best practices within the AP function.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-4 years of experience in accounts payable in SSC/BPO environment.
• Fluency English and German (at least B2 lvl)
• Solid knowledge of AP principles, accounting standards, and relevant regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (S4/Hana) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Experience with automated AP workflows
• Excellent methodical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors, team members, and management.
