Job summary

Kairos is seeking a generalist to support university groups through the Pathfinder Fellowship and OASIS workshops. You’ll help onboard organizers, coordinate mentorship, and manage grants while seeding new groups at universities not yet reached.

The role also involves helping strong organizers transition to full‑time AI safety work and contributing to broader Kairos initiatives. This remote-position offers the chance to influence AI safety community building at scale, with opportunities to

• Past university AI safety group organizer.
• Mission-aligned with context on AI safety.
• High agency and able to figure things out.
• People-oriented and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Help run the Pathfinder Fellowship: onboard groups, coordinate mentorship, manage communications and grants.
• Help run in-person events: plan logistics for OASIS and other events for organizers and students.
• Seed new groups: identify universities lacking AI safety groups and support founders.
• Help organizers go full-time: assist top organizers transition into full-time AI safety roles.
• Build program systems: improve applications, grants, communications infrastructure and automate routine work.
• Support broader Kairos programs (SPAR, Generator, Global Challenges Project) and partnerships.
