Job summary

Webellian in Warsaw is seeking a FinOps Engineer to own the financial operations for our engineering platform. You will make cloud and AI spend transparent, attributable, and predictable across production workloads spanning AI services, APIs, and frontend applications.

You will collaborate with Platform Engineers, SREs, AI Architects, and Finance to embed cost awareness into architecture and operations, forecast budgets, and govern AI/LLM costs while delivering measurable savings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in FinOps, cloud cost engineering, platform engineering, or related role.
• Strong hands-on Azure cost management, budgeting, tagging, and cost allocation.
• Understanding of reserved instances, savings plans, and capacity reservations.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes cost drivers and multi-tenant attribution.
• SQL and Python (pandas) for cost analysis and dashboards.
• Experience with AI/LLM cost economics and GPU/utilization metrics.
• Proven track record in cost-optimization programs with measurable savings.

Responsibilities

• Build cost visibility across the platform with attribution tagging and dashboards.
• Own cloud cost forecasting, budgeting, and anomaly detection.
• Govern AI/LLM spend: track token usage, model tier costs, and routing choices.
• Drive right-sizing programs for compute, storage, and databases.
• Manage reserved instances, savings plans and capacity reservations.
• Establish FinOps guardrails and budget alerts within the delivery workflow.
• Instrument cost telemetry and integrate with observability stack.
• Produce regular cost reports for leadership and Finance.
• Collaborate with Finance and Procurement on cloud commitments.
