Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Cost Optimization Specialist to drive cloud financial efficiency. You will partner with engineering, DevOps, architecture, and finance to cut spend while safeguarding performance and security. The role emphasizes governance, reporting, and automation in a hybrid, Poland-based setup.

You will lead cost analysis, implement optimization strategies, and mentor teams on FinOps practices in a fast-paced, enterprise context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years managing AWS environments and optimizing cloud costs.
• Understanding of AWS pricing models and billing.
• Experience with Cost Explorer, Budgets, CUR, and Cost Anomaly Detection.
• Knowledge of RI, Savings Plans, Spot Instances, and lifecycle optimization.
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Strong analytical abilities with large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Review AWS spend and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Define and implement optimization strategies across AWS services.
• Create dashboards and reports on usage, trends, and savings.
• Establish governance policies, tagging standards, and chargeback/showback.
• Optimize services for cost and performance (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.).
• Assess RI, Savings Plans, and Spot usage where suitable.
• Embed cost considerations into architecture and development processes.
• Track budgets and cost anomalies; report to stakeholders.
