Job summary

Propellerhead is seeking an experienced Site/Systems Reliability Engineer to join our AI‑driven engineering team in Auckland. You will work within an AI‑assisted delivery pipeline to diagnose, script, automate and document issues, while supporting DevOps tasks and real-time incident handling.

The role emphasizes cloud deployments on Azure, CI/CD automation, and proactive reliability improvements across complex environments.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site/Systems Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer or equivalent.
• Agentic‑first mindset: use AI to diagnose, script, automate and document in AI-assisted delivery.
• Expertise in developing scalable web applications.
• Proficiency in Rust, Java, .NET or Go; experience with JavaScript/HTML/CSS/Node.js/ReactJS/AngularJS.
• Scripting with PowerShell, Ruby, Python, shell; AI-assisted scripting encouraged.
• Strong experience with Azure deployment architectures, DevOps pipelines, GitHub Actions, Terraform.
• Linux system administration and cloud networking.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like New Relic or Dynatrace.

Responsibilities

• Design cloud deployment architectures on Azure with core development teams.
• Provision deployment environments including servers, services and networking.
• Ensure security, scalability, supportability and performance in solutions.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate where possible.
• Coordinate scheduled releases with development teams.
• Configure monitoring tools and integrate with support systems.
• Assist with ticket triage and incident investigation.
• Participate in on-call after hours and incident remediation.
• Document architecture and deployment processes with AI assistance.
