Job summary

Antal in Wrocław is seeking an experienced corporate accountant to own the monthly close, IFRS and German GAAP (HGB) reporting, and to coordinate the annual HGB financial statement package with the European Accounting team.

You will validate financial data, support audits, drive improvements in month-end processes, and collaborate with the core finance team across Europe in a hybrid work model. Fluency in English is required; German and Polish language skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Controlling or a related field.
• A few years of professional experience in accounting or financial reporting, preferably within an international corporate environment.
• Experience in a Shared Services Center, GBS organization or an interface role supporting German entities would be an advantage.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken, at a minimum C1 level.
• Knowledge of German would be a strong advantage.
• Very good command of Polish would be an asset.
• Good knowledge of IFRS; experience with German GAAP (HGB) would be highly valued.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex financial topics clearly to different stakeholder groups.
• A self-driven, structured and solution-oriented approach, combined with a high level of ownership and initiative.
• Strong service orientation, teamwork skills, reliability and commitment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, up to approximately 10%.
• Previous audit experience, particularly within a Big Four firm, would be an additional asset.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of the monthly closing process and financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and local German GAAP (HGB).
• Reviewing and validating financial data in close cooperation with the European Accounting team and relevant business departments.
• Coordinating and preparing the annual financial statement package under HGB, including financial statements, management reporting and representation letters, in cooperation with the team responsible for consolidated financial statements.
• Preparing and coordinating quarterly management reviews with senior finance leadership.
• Acting as the main point of contact for the external/group auditor during the audit process.
• Driving continuous improvement and optimization of the month-end closing and related accounting processes.
• Supporting projects related to financing and refinancing activities, as well as other corporate accounting topics.
• Handling ad hoc requests within the Corporate Accounting area.
• Working closely with the core finance team in Germany, independently developing solutions and aligning recommendations with key stakeholders.
