Buro Happold Limited seeks an experienced Accountant to join our Europe-focused finance team in Lublin on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role supports our hybrid working model with initial on-site presence and eventual flexible hybridity, handling month-end close, GL postings, and AP responsibilities.

Fluency in Polish and strong English are required, with German advantageous. A university degree in accounting/finance and at least 3 years of relevant experience are essential for delivering

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Fluency in Polish and very good command of English; German is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Support the month-end close process with timely GL entries and reconciliations.
• Post general ledger entries including accruals, prepayments and reclassifications.
• Process employee expenses and supplier invoices per internal procedures and local requirements.
• Perform AP subledger reconciliations and ensure balances are accurate.
• Respond to vendor queries and resolve discrepancies or payment issues promptly.
• Prepare weekly payment proposals for approval and execute payments.
• Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with European entities on approvals, coding and invoice matters.
• Accurately record and post bank transactions.

About You

Are you an experienced Accountant looking to make an immediate impact in an international environment?Buro Happold is looking to recruit anAccountant (Europe Focus) to join our Finance Teamin Lublin on a 12-month fixed-term contract.This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key role within our Central European finance operations. You will contribute your expertise to a well-established setup, ensuring smooth and efficient accounting processes while collaborating closely with an international team.As part of our hybrid working model, the successful candidate will initially be based in our Lublin office to support onboarding, knowledge sharing and integration into the team before transitioning to a hybrid working arrangement.

Your key duties

• Support the month-end close process through timely and accurate GL entries and reconciliations
• Perform general ledger postings, including accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
• Post employee expenses and supplier invoices in line with internal procedures and local regulatory requirements
• Perform AP subledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy and completeness of balances
• Respond to vendor queries and resolve discrepancies or payment-related issues in a timely manner
• Prepare weekly payment proposals for approval and execute payments upon authorization
• Contribute to process improvements and support automation initiatives
• Collaborate with European entities on approvals, coding and invoice-related matters
• Accurately record and post bank transactions

Your skills and experience

As an experienced Accountant, it is expected that you would be able to demonstrate:

• At least 3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Fluency in Polish and a very good command of English (German is an advantage).
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and strong systems skills.
• Strong hands-on mindset with a focus on delivery and accuracyAbility to quickly understand existing processes and systems
