Job summary

Education First is seeking a finance professional to join our international team as Accountant. You will handle monthly close, statutory accounting, tax compliance, and drive process improvements, collaborating with our finance operations team, BPO provider, and external advisors.

This role offers growing responsibility in accounting areas and a path to larger roles within EF as you develop expertise across functions and regions.

Qualifications

• 1 year finance or accounting experience
• Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
• Technical understanding of accounting principles and controls
• Basic understanding of Polish GAAP, VAT, and statutory requirements
• Basic understanding of statutory requirements in Czech Republic or Slovakia is an advantage
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership in a hands-on role
• Fluent in English and Polish, both written and spoken
• Proficiency in other European languages is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Record G/L, A/R, A/P, and other accounting transactions
• Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules for month-end and year-end close
• Support tax and statutory reporting with the Accounting Manager and external advisors
• Provide documentation for audits and internal reviews, and maintain accurate accounting records
• Work with BPO/shared-service teams and follow up on missing information or reconciling items
• Collaborate with the local and regional operations teams
