Job summary

Altoros is seeking a Unity Support Engineer for a part-time role. The engineer will review Unity SDK release notes monthly, identify breaking changes, and perform reactive compatibility patching on the Unity client as needed.

Responsibilities include incident diagnostics, root-cause clarification, and collaboration with the backend team to document issues and workarounds for runbooks. English at B2+ is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with Unity SDK, including release cycles and versioning.
• Ability to read, analyze, and modify C# code within Unity projects.
• Understanding how Unity standalone apps consume REST APIs.
• Experience building Unity standalone targets for Windows and Linux.
• Ability to reproduce and diagnose runtime issues locally.
• Familiarity with Unity plugins and Package Manager.
• English at level B2+ with ability to read technical docs.

Altoros - a leading IT services provider is looking for a Unity Support Engineer. Part‑time position.

Responsibilities

• Regularly review Unity SDK release notes on a monthly basis and:
  • Identify and flag breaking changes that may impact integration with Django
  • Assess the impact of each release on the existing API contract
• Perform reactive compatibility patching on the Unity client side when:
  • SDK updates introduce incompatibilities
  • Integration points with Django backend start failing
• Actively participate in incident diagnostics for issues such as:
  • Frozen screens or stale content
  • Missing or outdated content updates
  • Unity client not receiving configuration from Django
• Clarify root causes
• Propose and implement fixes
• Collaborate with the backend team and external stakeholders to document known issues and workarounds in runbooks

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with Unity SDK, including understanding of:
  • Release cycles and versioning strategies
  • Unity Package Manager and dependency management
  • Best practices for upgrading packages without breaking the project
• Strong ability to read, analyze, and modify C# code within existing Unity projects:
  • Not expected to build full applications from scratch
  • Focus on diagnosis, debugging, and targeted patching
• Solid understanding of how a Unity standalone application consumes REST APIs:
  • HTTP client usage in Unity
  • JSON serialization/deserialization
  • Error handling and retry strategies
• Experience configuring and building Unity standalone targets for:
  • Windows
  • Linux
• Ability to reproduce and diagnose runtime issues locally in Unity:
  • Using logs, breakpoints, and diagnostic tools
  • Isolating issues related to networking, configuration, or SDK behavior
• Practical knowledge of Unity plugins and Package Manager:
  • Updating dependencies safely
  • Resolving conflicts and version mismatches
• English level B2+:
  • Comfortable reading technical documentation and runbooks
  • Able to communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders

Nice to have requirements

• Experience using Unity in the context of digital signage, kiosk systems, interactive displays (not traditional game development)
• Basic understanding of Django REST API from the client perspective: how endpoints are structured, common patterns for configuration and content delivery
• Familiarity with GCP Cloud Run at a conceptual level: understanding what it is and how to interact with it
• Experience working with jump PCs / RDP for remote diagnostics: navigating remote environments, collecting logs and reproducing issues on remote machines

Engagement

• Part-time: up to 10 hours/month.
• Duration: 6–12 months, starting August.
• Working window: Mon–Fri, 15:00–00:00 Warsaw time. You are not expected to be present at the monitor although the shift, while be able to handle a task within 4h-1 business day.
• Fully paid onboarding 20h August‑October 2026
• Location: Poland or westward.
