Citi Handlowy in Warsaw seeks a senior leader to head Risk and Controls in the 1st Line of Defense. You will strengthen risk management across identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring and reporting, while overseeing the country risk profile.

The role operationalizes MCA guidelines, owns governance for BRCC and KCIs, serves as application owner for MCA platforms, and leads a network of Operational Risk Coordinators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
• 10+ years of risk, controls, compliance, or audit experience in financial services.
• Proven ability to enhance internal controls and governance.
• Strong stakeholder management and consensus-building across functions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for senior management and committees.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented.
• Fluency in English and Polish (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Act as Citi Handlowy Risk and Controls Head for the 1st Line of Defense.
• Strengthen risk management across identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring and reporting.
• Oversee the country risk profile and ensure robust controls.
• Operationalize MCA guidelines and set KRIs.
• Serve as Application Owner for MCA platforms and manage escalations.
• Govern BRCC governance, charter ownership, agendas, and quarterly reporting.
• Direct bank-wide Issue Management and monthly BRCC reporting.
• Own Citi Handlowy Escalation Policy and serve as primary contact for escalations.
• Lead network of Operational Risk Coordinators with guidance and training.
• Represent Citi Handlowy in Citi's global R&C initiatives under governance rules.
