Job summary

Petroleum Division seeks a Technical Consultant (Minerals) to provide expert input across exploration, planning, development, production, processing, and reclamation in the minerals sector. Qualifications

• Bachelor level and postgraduate degrees in mining and geology.
• Strong background in mineral exploration, feasibility assessment, and investment evaluation.
• Experience with environmental, health, and safety standards in mineral projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in mineral exploration, planning, development, production, processing, reclamation, and environmental aspects.
• Analyze technical data to support exploration and development of the mineral sector.
• Undertake due diligence and evaluate mineral feasibility studies and investment proposals.
• Lead in development and sustainable utilization of coal resources with environmentally compliant technologies.
• Prepare evidence-based reports and MOUs, tender documents, and draft agreements.
• Monitor mineral projects for KPI delivery and adherence to timelines.

Technical Consultant (Minerals) (SPPS-II)

Role & Responsibility of Technical Consultant (Minerals), includes but not limited to provision of expertise/ input in the following matters:

• Provide expertise in mineral exploration, planning, development, production, processing, reclamation, and environmental aspects;
• Perform analysis of technical data to help undertake exploration and development of mineral sector;
• Undertake due diligence, evaluate mineral feasibility studies, investment proposals and review/suggest transaction structure;
• Undertake research and development to bring innovations in the mineral sector and help the authorities in decision-making;
• Lead and assist in the development and sustainable utilization of vast coal resources of the country adopting environmentally compliant technologies including advanced/ innovative coal gasification techniques;
• Develop evidence-based reports/ studies with recommendations to attract investment;
• Assist in preparation of mineral sector MOUs, tender documents, and draft agreements etc.;
• Provide input for effective monitoring of mineral projects;
• Review and ensure implementation of international best practices and HSE standards;
• Assess, forecast and plan strategies for effective utilization of critical/ rare minerals for maximum benefit to the country;
• Review and guide in implementation of modern mineral technologies, modelling/ simulation;
• Perform detailed techno-economic analysis of mineral sector;
• Ensure delivery of assigned tasks in accordance with KPIs, targets and timelines;
• Work in collaboration with team on cross-cutting issues in the mineral sector; and
• Attend other assignments/ tasks given/ assigned by authorities.
